  • Tuesday, December 16th Meeting - 6:30 @ Sunrise

Tuesday's meeting is a Holiday celebration. The troop in class As should assemble in the Rochester Hills Library (500 Olde Towne Road) south parking lot at 6:25 PM. Scout's may bring musical instruments and song sheets for Christmas favorites (Rudolf, White Christmas, Jingle bells, etc.). We will sing to the residents of Sunrise Assisted Living (500 E. University, Rochester). Those who attend the singing will share in pizza and pop.

The troop will then return to the Community House (walk or ride depending on weather). The troop will then exchange white elephant gifts. A white elephant gift should be inexpensive, humorous or used items from home which are wrapped to hide their identity.

Bring permission slips for the Technology Lock-in.

  • Community House Volunteers - Saturday 13th

All those scouts who volunteered to help with the Breakfast with Santa should plan on being there around 10:30 AM (Saturday, December 13th) and cleaning for one hour. Class B. Remember to contact Mr Burlinagme for credit.

  • PLC at Verlinde's - Dangerous road

Danger - If you are coming to Mr. V's house tonight for the PLC meeting, DO NOT come onto North Livernois from Dutton. The hill is almost solid ice and very dangerous. Instead, take Orion Rd northwest to N. Livernois and turn left. House is about 0.5 miles on the right. Listen for the roosters crowing. Be sure to wear your uniform and bring your patrol flags.

  • Patrol Leaders Council At Verlinde's Tuesday, 12/9-7 PM

The Patrol Leaders Council will be in the Verlinde Chicken Coup (seriously) at 7 PM, Tuesday, December 9th. The address is 5680 Livernois, which is north of Dutton.

We will be planning the January & February events and campouts.

We have also been invited to Mackinaw Island to do flag ceremonies for August and will need to discuss.

The next troop meeting is December 16th. The troop will be caroling (@ pizza) at Sunrise (across from Rochester Library) at 6:30 and then white elephant gift exchange at 7:30.

  • A Few Philmont Openings Available !!!

Scouts:  Philmont Scout Ranch is a special opportunity that comes around only once every few years and is considered the ultimate opportunity to utilize all of your scout skills, practice working as a crew in the backcountry for 11 days and an outstanding leadership opportunity.

Some of you have already signed up, and the troop has a few more openings remaining.  Please consider other T125 scouts who may be interested but haven't signed up, but also consider other scouts you may know from other troops.  The scout must be First Class, and either 14 years old by Jan 1st or 13 by August 1 + completed 8th grade.   Scouts within T125 have priority.   Any scouts outside of T125 are welcome, but please consider their interpersonal skills and whether they are a good fit within one of the existing crews already identified.  The adult advisors and crew leaders will make the final determination.

This is an excellent opportunity --- please give some thought to fellow scouts who might be great candidates and bring them forward for consideration !!

Any questions please contact me at rrazzano@wowway.com
