• Tuesday, March 31st Activity: Bowling at Classic Lanes

• Moosejaw Hosts Event for Troop 125!!

  Moosejaw with host Troop 125 for a 'group sales day' event just for us on Sunday, March 29, 2009 from 2:00-6:00pm. This will be at their Rochester Hills store in Meadowbrook Village ( Adams and Walton Rds.). Purchases for members of Troop 125 will receive a 20% discount! This is higher than their normal 10% for Scout groups. Come at your leisure during this time for gear for any of our upcoming high adventure trips or even if just needing gear for summer camp and such. This is a great opportunity to stock up on gear or clothes - even if just water bottles!! We would like a preliminary count of who may take advantage of this event. Please respond to Mr. Scarlatelli. • AT & Philmont Warm-up Hike (Saturday, 1PM- Stoney Creek Metropark)

  High Adventure Saturday, March 21st there will be a high adventure warm-up hike (packs optional) at Stoney Creek Metropark. We will be hiking the hilly area by the Nature center located on the north side of the park. You can reach it by going through the South gate and driving there or by parking at the Inwood parking area on Inwood raod and crossing over to the south side of the road. The South entrance will cost $4 for a daily pass. I would recommend getting an annual pass ($20) as we will probably have the troop picnic there and more warm-up hikes for Philmont (walk & swim). Newer scouts are welcome to bring a compass (& water) and we can do the 5 mile hike and compass reading requirement. • Tuesday Meeting (7:30 PM Community House)

  Activities include OA elections and planning patrols cooking contest meals for March (13-15) campout. The Troop Officers will explain the judging rules and guidelines for the cooking competition.   Permission slips are due for Mackinaw and Smokey Mountain trip. Forms may be turned in for the March Polar Bear. We will discuss guidelines for April Sleeping Bear Dunes and May Dorchester camporee. • OA Elections rescheduled for Tuesday, March 3.

• Mackinac deposit due NOW.

  The deadline to turn in a $50 deposit for the Mackinac Island Scout Service Camp while the trip was opened for just Troop 125 has passed, and the trip will now be opened to other troops. You can still turn in your deposit until the trip is filled. Only a few more Scouts will be able to bring their own bicycle. The following Scouts have signed-up so far (although a few still owe their deposit): Evan B, Chris O, Ian G, Lucas M, Bryan I,Spencer S, Brandon S, Kevin S, Eric Z, Dallas S, Andy M, Alex O, Victor H, Dalton H, Brock G, Jake G, Nick T, John M (Mr. V's nephew), Brandon O, Jon S.  Don't be left out - this opportunity will probably not present itself again for a few years! It's been a highlight for many past members of Troop 125. Mail to Mr. Verlinde, 5680 N. Livernois, Rochester, MI 48306 or bring it to a meeting. Deposit form is attached.
