  • Packing list

I have attempted to attach a packing list for summer camp to this message. If it is not attached or if you don't have excel then go to the troop web site and both the excel and pdf versions will be posted. Thanks Matt Rolain
  • Summer Camp Logistics

Hello Troop 125! Summer camp is quickly approaching us and there are a few things that you need to know about the trip up. The departure location has been changed to Dr. Rolain's office (2251 North Squirrel Road, the building is called Crittenton Medical Plaza). We will depart from there at 7:00 am, so everyone needs to be there at the latest by 6:45! The last person there has to pitch the first one's tent! All drivers need to have full gas tanks before arriving at the departure location. Also, everyone needs to pack a sack lunch for the drive up. We will stop at a rest area somewhere near Mackinaw to eat lunch. You must be in full class A for the trip there and back. Don't forget to bring your name stakes and if you have not already done so, everyone must complete their pre-requisites in order to take your merit badges. Cots are discouraged for use during summer camp, but any scout who feels that they need one must call Mr. Holloway in advance for permission. See you all in a few days! Matt Rolain
  • Summer Camp drivers and forms

I am preparing list of drivers.  If you are not traveling with the troop, please e-mail me (garyhoward@wideopenwest.com).  Also, if you have forms that need turned in, please e-mail them, fax them (313-849-5516) or mail them (Gary Howard, 1260 Almond Dr., Troy, MI 48098).  Please do not wait until Saturday morning since we do not want to delay the Troop's departure going through your forms.  Thank you.

  • BRONZE BISON - Archery Tonight

    Bronze Bison,

Tonight at the Archery Range at Bass Pro 6:30pm to about 8:00pm.   We will need to bring our own gear and they do not have anything that we can borrow or rent and I know that Chance has a bow and I have two that people can use. Anyone have any more?  We do have a few rules:

    1) We wear our class "A"
    2) We are very careful and we don't act horrible
    3) Anyone who wants to use one of my bows that is very expensive I will have to show them how to use it.

Cost will depend on how many show up.  See you there
    From
    Ben Thornton
  • Merit Badge Prerequisites

Now that summer vacation is here, everyone should have time to complete the prerequisites for merit badges that they intend on earning at summer camp.  The prerequisites are on the merit badge list.  Only two weeks before we leave...

  • Flag Ceremony THIS Friday

Troop 125, There was a mistake on the last email that I sent out about the flag ceremony for the softball tournament. It is NOT Friday the 25th, it is this Friday the 18th. The ceremony begins at 4:45 and you would need to be there by 4:15. Give me a call at 248-884-0318 if you are interested. Matt Rolain
  • Flag Ceremony June 25th

Hello Troop 125! On Friday June 25th Borden Park is hosting a girls softball tournament. They have asked us to do the opening flag ceremony for the tournament, which will be at around 5 pm. This is an honor and a great opportunity for our troop to be recognized. If you are interested in participating in this ceremony, give me a call at 248-884-0318. There are a limited number of scouts allowed to participate so first come first serve! Have a great summer everybody. Matt Rolain

  • Chris Ogg now seen online for newspaper www.examiner.com!

My new webpage as a reporter for Rochester with the online newspaper www.examiner.com is up and running....and my first article features......TA DA! Chris Ogg at his Honor Wall and the veterans sitting at the wall during the Memorial Day ceremonies!  I have Chris's photo as the feature of the story, and then he is seen again in the slide show. (I had permission from Mrs. Ogg use this photo. )

    Here is the link:    http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-52598-Rochester-Examiner~y2010m6d9-Veterans-saluted-in-Rochester

I get VERY little money to write for this online newspaper, so I am doing this as a community service for Rochester....and it's fun! For every "hit" on my webpage, I get "tips" paid to me from the newspaper....very little tips...

If you know of an event that is occuring around Rochester this summer that I might write about and take photos, please email me at the following:   examinerruth@yahoo.com.  Please note that I must have parent consent (on a form that I can email) before downloading a photo of a particular child under the age of 18 since the photo will be on the Internet. (By the way, I have a photo of Dan Burlingame, too, I can add if I get permission for it.I will send it to Mr. B)

Hope you like the article!  Keep watching!  It is easy for me to place scout articles, so pass the word to Rochester area troops!

  • Still Time for Summer Camp

So you missed the deadline.  Fortunately, you have a second chance.  You may still register for summer camp.  However, you must act now.  I need your permission slip and your check.   Please send me an e-mail to let me know that it is coming.  There are not many second chances in life.  Do not let this one pass you by!
