Evan Bonetti has a football game Friday Night at Stoney Creek High. He still needs a ride after the game Friday night. If anyone else is going and is willing to take another Scout, please contact us!! 248.672.7464. As a last resort, I can drive him down there, and take riders if anyone wants to leave late in the evening, but I have no way to get him back (I work Sunday morning.).

We don't need to worry about the age requirements. The weight requirements are going to be hard enough to meet.

Age requirement:

1/ Scout must be 14 yrs old as of January 1, 2009; OR

2/ 13 yrs old and have completed 8th grade by the start of the expedition (Aug 2, 2009).

I agree with Kent, a commitment to participate in the Pie Baking event is a requirement that the Troop has clearly expressed since day 1. My sense is that people are not actively saying "I won't bake" -- most are simply procrastinating on their shift sign up (for which there is no firm deadline).

So to you people who have not signed up ... GET OFF THE DIME and sign up please! You are scaring us! Maybe you don't read email during the summer? Just sign up, no harm done ... yet.

You are doing nothing wrong -- that file is intended for Scribes, Committee Members and Uniformed leaders. The Troop wants to protect that info -- and not publish that much personal info about Scouts on the internet.

For Scouts and parents trying to decide what they get fo the money and effort, consider this. My son, Eric, is a T125 Eagle Scout and attended National Jambo several years ago. The council does a good job of organizing, almost always with some extra days in the Washington, D.C. area in advance, with opportunities to see sites like the Smithsonian, Arlington Cemetery, FBI facilities and likely a Six Flags type of amusement park. At the Jambo you meet many thousands of scouts from around the world and there are hundreds of activities. While it's usually hot, there are cool-down stations, water events and more. Often the President stops by. Be sure to take a bunch of local patches to trade. You'll gain lots of good Scouting memories. As Mr. Scarlatelli said, registered adult leaders can apply.
