Mr. Finney was an enthusiastic scouting volunteer with Troop 125 for over six years. He will be remembered as Assistant Scoutmaster, mentor, father and friend.

Always an example of good character, Mr. Finney was quick to gain the confidence of both youth and parents. Mr. Finney was frequently observed helping Scouts to learn and work through their advancement requirements, while providing a healthy mix of fun with plenty of smiles. He demonstrated patience and persistence, in activities including building monkey bridges and cooking turkeys.

A thoughtful and soft spoken man, Mr. Finney would listen and was easy to talk with. Regularly, he was a voice of reason at the troop committee meetings. Never without his Palm Pilot, Mr. Finney was a reliable troop resource. Also, Mr. Finney was a loud voice in the campout choir of adult snoring . . . that made the boys laugh.

Troop 125 youth will have fond memories of activities with Mr. Finney, even in the decades to come. Mr. Finney will always be with those that worked with him. You don't have to look far to see the results of Mr. Finney's sphere of influence.
